Just for fun....we started watching "Newhart"

We bought the full 8 seasons of Newhart. We are still in the first season.
The premise is that the NYC professionals buy an inn in Vermont on a whim and watch the crazies go by. We're having a good time so far!
I'm getting ready to retire from my office job in the city to be a full time innkeeper. Not quite Vermont, but North of Boston.

Dartmouth is not in Vermont. No way Stephanie goes to school there from Middlebury! Love Larry, Darryl and Darryl!

I love George. He's so perfect New England keep to himself townie.

The inn is set in Vermont, and the Waybury Inn in Middlebury was used for exterior shots.
It's a slight source of annoyance to Vermonters that the other scenery used in the opening is unused footage from On Golden Pond, which was actually filled in New Hampshire.
Enjoy the series. Its gets better after season 1 when they started taping it on film rather than videotape.

I can see that, but it's Hollywood. It annoys the folks in Sitka, Alaska that "The Proposal" outdoor scenes were filmed in Rockport, Massachusetts.
I hear the Waybury has a presentation of mementoes and props from the series.
I also heard that Carrie Fisher stayed at my inn. But that was a long time ago......in a galaxy far, far away. Or, at least, before my time. And no mementoes.

I understand that a lot of the film "Rocket Boys" was filmed in Romania.

We watched a couple last night. One hit home - giving away rooms to 'friends' who turn out to be not really friends, just people who wanted a free room. Yeah, been there. But it's funnier when Bob Newhart does it.
