Hello, my name is Margaret. I’m new here. I’m 25 years old and currently live in MD. I just accepted a job as a live in innkeeper (I’ll be helping the owner) in NJ. I was wondering if anyone blogs.... or know of any good innkeeper/BnB blogs out there. I’m going to start one on tumblr so family and friends can follow my adventure plus for being a newbie... i can have a blog that represents the good, bad, and ugly.... local reviews on restaurants...coffee shops..etc. just basically a place where I can share my experience.. also, would it be okay if I shared my blog on this site? If not I totally understand ( not sure of all the rules yet).

A lot of innkeepers blog, it's good for SEO and keeping guests informed about what's happening in the area.
A word of advice - don't post the bad on the blog. You are representing your new employer when you talk about your new job. Be careful with restaurant reviews.
What I would do is write it all down, but don't post it until you know the lay of the land in your new job.

I think there is a difference between a personal blog, one that you write just to document your own experiences (good and bad), and a business blog, one that is intended to help promote the business (where you really only want to highlight the good).
So IF you are writing a personal blog while you are actively engaged in the business, you would need to be extremely careful to avoid any and all references that could tie your blog to the specific business, and avoid telling stories about guests where the guests could recognize themselves.

Or OTHERS would recognize the guests.

Thank you guys I never thought about others..like guest seeing it... That's a good thought of not putting the bad. That's why I'm a newbie.
