Grrr! I just noticed that my place isn't showing up on TA. Upon investigation I found that my TripConnect "campaign" ended Sept. 1. Apparently you have to renew it every year. Yeah, now that I think about it, I think this happened last year too. I need to remember to renew it every year on my birthday or something.

They email and call me constantly wanting me to spend money with them, but I can't find a single email telling me my campaign was ending! No wonder business slowed down! Double grrr.

This is incredible to me.

With just about everything I sign up for automatically selecting auto renew and forcing me to go in and opt out, I'm shocked they're not doing the autograb of your payment!

This is a company that doesn't really understand it's own business and how the bread and butter is put on the table. You think they understand that?

Who's still paying for their listing? I walked away because I just couldn't afford it and I know a lot of B&Bs that did. Funny, it was the B&B goers who left the most reviews per person.... now they don't even go to TA, because we don't care about TA.

So wish I had seen this post on onset!!!

But then again it could have confused both of us.

BTW I have been doing TC for at least as long as you Arks but never had my campaign expire.  Just add more money and/or dates and always start back up.

My problem continues - one month now!  Yes, really!

They now have finally agreed that the problem is a glitch in my campaign.

But now are looking into WHY!  Not open to a new campaign as yet.

The problem?  The TA has removed any TC support.  TA feels that TC is a do it yourself type of system and apparently feel nothing goes wrong on their end so it must be user error.

Emails are only answered during overnight hours so no matter how early you respond in the AM there is no response until the next night.  And of course it doesn't seem to matter as they don't read (or maybe comprehend) what the problem is.

Each time I told them I understand how it works I have run a successful TC campaign for several years, it is not working now!  It appears as though CS does not understand my problem, please have someone call me.

I finally had an email from them asking how my CS issue was handled.  I gave them an ear screen full and again asked to please have someone call me.

And finally someone did.   After a few answered questions the CS person said, it does appear you know how TC works and that there is a problem with your account.  That was when I was told no one is assigned to help with TC problems!  That is brilliant! Of course they really want you to transfer over to a business listing.

Sadly due to the change with Google maps and the lack of TC I had to resort back to E xp edi a as I was not being seen in the searches I needed.

AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Companies like that, and their policies and take it or leave it attitude just kills me.

Were you able to renew it? Copper had a similar problem... not sure if it's fixed. I check almost every day to make sure it's working.

Yes I renewed it and I'm back from complete oblivion to #2. My reviews are much better than the local chain hotel, but apparently they pay a lot more money to TA to be #1. Whatever. At least I'm now listed "above the fold".

Seems like these days TA sorts on value (cheap first) unless you hunt and sort by quality

Yes, they're listed by "value" and the chain hotel is called the #1 value in town, and I'm the #2 value because I'm about $50/night higher. The two cheap motels in town don't even appear on the list, because they don 't pay anything.
