Woke up sick & dizzy today - and Veterans due in. Hoped I would get better but that ain't happening. Thankfully the B & B across the mountain did not get booked and I was able to call the Vet and divert them. I am fortune in the friends I have. Going to put myself to bed now. I have 4 days to get back to normal.

Sorry to hear that you are sick but glad you could find another place for the Vets. Thank you for all you do for Bed and Breakfasts around the world!

After about 17 hours in bed (I also cancelled being in the Veterans Parade today) and almost 24 hours of no food, I am 5 pounds lighter the hard way and so far am tolerating a bowl of cereal & milk. Walking through the house without holding on to solid objects so I am better. I WILL be on that plane at 6 AM Wednesay!!
Had e-mail this morning from receiving B & B - everyone is happy thank goodness. She SAVED me!!
I neglected to say it was A Nature's Song in Mannington, West Virginia that saved the days. I am blessed with the best of friends.

Glad to hear you are doing better! If all else fails, airports have wheelchairs and attendants. Just ask and let your needs be known.

I know. I have been navigating OK for the last few days-including driving. My guests have a key to the car and are going to stop at the airport and bring the car back to the driveway - it can easily be seen from all directions and I do not want it known I am gone. They will bring it back to the airport the day before I come home.

Update: still slightly dizzy at times but not incapacitated. Not sick.
had a wonderful 3 days with my son. Nice gentlemen helped with my luggage at every on/off of train (advantage of being an old broad) . Got to North Wales & we came to the Lake District last night. Spent the day in and around Keswick. I recommend the Pencil Museum.
Tomorrow we go to the Peak District - Chatsworth. We will stay at another B & B before going back to North Wales. To Cotswolds on the 25th with a BedPosts get-together on the 27th. I come home 29th.
My pipelines put the car in the driveway - plan worked. A lady in town called & left a voicemail because she saw the car & thought I was still there or back.
Having a great time. Bedtime here!

In re the dizzy part - if you get this when sitting up after lying down, or standing up after sitting, or turning your head back and forth, you might want to try Claritin D.
It worked wonders for me! Took about 3 days and all the dizziness was gone. (No comments from the peanut gallery!)
It might be an inner ear problem. My housekeeper paid $1000 at an emergency clinic just to hear the same thing.

Will look for some. Been thinking inner ear or sinus. One thing I DO KNOW, is that it IS all in my head. Also thought all the times I have bashed mine head on things may have something to do with it.

My mom had it with her inner ear and the doctor sent her to physical therapy and they taught her how to stop it through simple head and body movements/positions. You can see them online as well I hear.

You should not do those exercises without a Dr showing them to you. Yes, they work, but they can go horribly wrong if you upset the delicate balance in your inner ear.
My Dr said if the Claritin didn't work she would show me how to do the exercises and watch to be sure nothing went wrong.

Planning to pick up some Claritan tomorrow, forgot to get it today. Worth a shot. Lay down, turn over, sit up, or look down too fast are the big spin times. Look ancient walking down stairs clutching the railing as I do the one-step. Mary is 82 & runs rings around me!!! It is embarrassing.

Make sure it is Claritin D. I tried the other, plain, Claritin and it didn't work.
Your symptoms sound just like mine. Hard to believe just turning over in bed could make you dizzy, right?!
