I was in England on Thanksgiving so today I am making a Thanksgiving / Christmas Dinner for my pipe line people - past and present. They have all been so helpful to me. And I have been truly blessed.

Turkey is roasting and I still have a lot to fix but everything is under control.

Turns out this may have been the perfect day to do it. My couple came home about 30 minutes ago - they were both fired! Her boss has been giving her flak (which she has been journaling- he has no idea who/what he is messing with, she is no fool) and up until today, her husband has stayed out of it. But today he threw some equipment at her and Hubs was not standing for that because he said, if he gets away with it this time, he could hit her next time and hurt her so he told her boss that was unacceptable and they were both fired.

They are going to make the rounds to see if they can get on with one of the other companies in the area. And I have a feeling that my female over 40 former semi-driver who has been driving a 1-ton truck on some of the steepest slopes and who knows her rights may have a little surprise for a certain boss &  company because there were witnesses to a lot of the flak who wanted to step up for her that she kept out of trouble by telling them to just cool it.

This may be a farewell dinner as well, but I have been blessed with some very good people in my life.

We all need to count our blessings every day.

Dinner was great - 5 pipe line workers and me. To sit there and listen to them all talking together and eating - there was not much turkey left after I told Austin and Hank to fill the containers I gave them (we will not be eating turkey for a month). Paula did all the dishes and Alan hung my cork board on the wall in my office (birthday from my daughter that I finally ordered). We will be making turkey soup this week - with my homemade noodles.

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope all goes well over there with everyone especially the couple!  I hope things go well for them.  They are all blessed to have you in their lives as much as you are to have them.
