Hi
This is my first post, I am from the UK
We operate a small venue and ask for the breakfast selection to be made known before the guest retires each evening.
I am looking for a WordPress plugin that would allow us to make available the breakfast menu online, I cannot find anything in themeforest and code canyon but cannot find anything. They are all wanting to charge and link to woocommerce which is pointless.
Many thanks

I haven't looked for anything like that, but would a Google doc work just as well?
Or, if you changed your search so it looks less like you are trying to 'sell' something (breakfast).

I'm guessing that your desire is to allow your guest to pick certain choices?
Could you use a "radio button"

I've used similar in an Access database for choosing selections, looks rather like what is used on this site or FB where we are asked to vote for certain choices. Is that anything like you are needing?

Hi Morticia
That's not a bad shout, I am keen to try and keep it all in the WP environment and know I could IFrame it.
The benefit of having this working as I envisage it is the Guest makes a choice and can edit it up until say 6am on the day.
My partner can then know what's heading our way and have it ready at the correct time.
Concerned a Google Doc may look a little clinical for the less technical guest.

Hi Jim
thank you for such an interesting idea, I am not a developer by any means though happy to install plugins, this one appears to need at least two plugins to function. I had not seen that website so it was certainly worth my while taking a look and I certainly appreciate your time and knowledge.
I imagine a kind of form they complete with either / or radio buttons which once completed is emailed to us and perhaps them.
There is a need for such a utility and I believe accommodation providers would pay for it. I think I have convinced myself to have it built on https://Fiverr.com and then sell it.

Welcome. Where are you in the UK. Are you on BedPosts?.
Never heard of bedposts, I am in East Sussex
.
BedPosts is a closed Forum for Accommodation Providers mostly in the UK. I am in it from "across the pond" (we would love to have more across the pond B & Bs, then their IT guy would get the US batch better). They also have free directory - just post their badge on your website - with THOR Basic (also free) for availbility calendar. I have my ReservationKey linked to my BedPosts advert.

Morning Paul,
You can be sure that I'm no developer either, just a do-it-yourself handyman, website or physical repairs. My own website is pretty much thanks to a forum member I haven't seen post recently who took my hand and led me it the best direction.
If you are looking in the direction of email as opposed to expecting a guest to complete a form on your website (and I think email is easier for you and the guest) does it really need to be part of WordPress or a complicated form? Seems like an automated email on each day of their visit would take less effort, as a guest I would choose X, Y or Z and reply to the email. Our reservation system (RK) sends a set of automated emails to guests before and after their visit, perhaps check your reservation system, if automated emails are part of the system it may be as simple as adding a (meal email) to the program.

Hi Paul,
I am a WordPress developer and I'd be happy to brainstorm the features of such a plugin with you and the rest of the forum members here. I'm thinking we can make it very simple to start then maybe improve the features in the future. What do you think of a simple plugin that would do the following -
- allow you to add the breakfast items (name, description, image) in the WordPress admin
- list them in a simple form (with radio buttons for the choice i.e. they would only be able to choose one)
- The form would also have a field for their name
- Once they submit the form with their name and choice of breakfast, it sends you an email to you (the bed and breakfast owner) with the details.
Let me know what you think!
Important note: I don't intend on charging any money for something like this. I want to expand my WordPress experience and continue building websites and plugins that are applicable in the real world.

I think Google makes forms. I'm not sure how to integrate that in with WordPress but I'm sure it's possible. Good luck and let us know what you're solution turns out to be.
