Inquiring minds want to know if they clean in between guests or if they expect guests to clean up well enough after themselves to be ready for the next cheap date? Just something I've wondered. Seems like it would be hard to clean a whole house at 100 bucks a night, which is how a lot of them are rented around here

I skulk around several Air forums, and on the Reddit one there was a big debate about whether or not you should change the sheets after each guest. I kid you not.

Just YUCK! I'm not surprised, though. I guess they get what they pay for.

Looked at a forum today that has a large variety of VR, B&B, Gurts etc on it. Said they happened to look in the kitchen drawer to see dirty food marks on the silverware. Linens were left on beds etc.
The way it read it sounded like the guest was to totally clean before departure.
We have only once stayed at a vacation rental, years ago, long before Air and the like. The entire condo complex was VR at the beach.
BIL had booked it for all of us. There was a damage deposit along with a cleaning cleaning fee + deposit and a list of 'must do's' in order to get said deposits back.
I only recall that the dishwasher was to be run AM check out day with all silverware and dishes, and left in the the dishwasher. (cleaning crew placed all back in cabinets). Two loads of laundry started, one washing, one washed and in dryer. Floors swept and vacuumed. Rest done by cleaning crew.
Now that everyone wants to be in the business without being legal, I bet lots of cleaning is being overlooked. - Yuck!
