...or is this strictly US-based? Long story short, I have the opportunity to manage a small (<6) bedroom B&B in the south of France, and heck yeah I'm gonna do it. Would appreciate anyone who has navigated foreign waters.
Otherwise, I'm looking forward to getting as much info as possible from this site!
Thanks!

Not in France, but also not not US based and I'm completely fluent in French. Do you have working paper for Europe?

Talk about timing being everything! I was looking for someone in S of F 2-3 years ago (trying to forget). I needed someone in area to accept an award for me for a script I entered. The rules were strict. Winner needed to attend or at least have a rep on Red Carpet. French actor was to do it but punked out at last minute. I lost award because of this! < :-( >

Haven't started any of that yet - too soon. Are you asking if I have a job secured? Yes! We are still looking for the perfect property, not in any rush, will have to sell here as well. And I have started French lessons!

I'm so sorry!

It is quite difficult to get working papers for Europe, unless, of course, you have a European passport. It's important to see what you will need to do to get proper paperwork.

:welcome:
We've had a few inns from France represented here over the years, but none at present. Same with England, Italy, Spain, and South America. They show up here occasionally, for a while, then disappear. But the Americans do the same, show up for a while then leave. Only a handful keep coming back regularly for years.
We do have some fairly regular members from Scotland, Netherlands, and of course, Canada. This group can offer some general help, but so much depends on your own local laws and location.

Thank you, AIF. Me too> :-(

I've fantasized during the past three years about finding someone with a French B&B and doing an even swap. I'll keep clinging to that dream.
