Can't vote today...no guests. We are in our slooooooooooooooooooooooow period (the long, hot days of Summer).
We just had wonderful guests that checked out the other day and hopefully, they'll be back in September! Hugs all around

No, not necessarily the innkeeper complaining place, but it's about the only place that I don't have to put on a smile when I don't feel like it, look happy and perfect in front of the public and put on the happy face when I'm with my elderly mother and all I want to do is cry.
This is a little bit of sanctuary we can go to where we don't have to explain ourselves because the innkeepers reading this have been there, done that.
I for one appreciate being able to just tell it like it is.....sometimes that's negative, sometimes not.
Well... I had an early, "here we are, is it OK," but by that time, the room was all fixed except for the pillowcases and i was in a huge hurry just to put my own head on a nice, soft pillow, I said, "OK." I really didn't want to tell them to come back in an hour and a half and have to wait up for them. I work all night and had to also contend with a new towel rack or two that removed themselves from the wall, cheap engineering...! No fault of the guest.
Previous recent guest was visibly uncomfortable, never had been to a bnb before. Just not her style anyway, our place at least. Polite, but just not comfortable.
Our recent guests have been wonderful! The one who left this morning even invited me to chat with her until late last night over a bottle of wine. Wonderful sentiments in the guest book, wanting to invite everyone she knows to come here.
Life is good!
I could not agree more....venting is great to a certain extent. But, when everyone vents negatively, the energy feeds off itself, and then we come on here to &%$# about every little thing. Maybe it also works the other way. If we want to attract any prospective guests reading this forum, we have to show our sweet sides once in a while!!

No one today so cannot vote. I usually have great guests. Can only think of one REAL BOZO in the 13 years - a couple of marginals, but one total jerk.
We DO share stories of good guests. Remember the flowers? Remember the thread What is the best.....

and my poll here was just a nudge.
this is the safe haven to come in and vent. and i do my fair share!
but with ads here for places to stay, we do well to remember that there are also potential guests who visit this site.
Just a reminder, that is why many of us are anonymous on this site. I'd really rather not have my guests venture out here but if they do they don't need to know who I am.
And P.S. - I got a hug this morning, so I'm not saying that coz I had 'bad' guests.

One thing about it if potential guests do stumble onto this site, they will get an education about how to be good guests - no early "Here we are!", no late or no-show for breakfast, no late check-out or late arrival - and why we ask them to not do any of the above. We are not being crabby to ask for these things to not occur, just trying to be people.
A summer camp nurse was here today with her family. She wants to get some of her other camp counselor and admin friends to swap schedules so they can come back in a few weeks.
I could vote today! We had newlyweds last night. Has anyone heard of a gospel group called The Journeymen Quartet? They sing with Bill Gaither's gospel get-togethers as well as tour. The bass got married last night and they came here. Multiple hugs on departure.
Great guests who are having fun riding bikes all around. They ended up coming here 2 days early. Weather was perfect today for being outside, too
