OK, can we get right what a 'bed and breakfast' is? Even tho the writer says the building is 1250 sq ft, I'm pretty sure it's more like 12,500 sq ft, given the photo. That is NOT a B&B. Just because you get breakfast with your room does not constitute a B&B.
It's a beautiful place. But doesn't anyone get it yet, that you don't start work without the permits, written, signed and pasted on the front window for everyone to see?

Apparently not. Do you wonder how on the up and up they will operate this business when they start out ignoring/breaking all the laws?

It looks like the place is open and running right now..they show availablity????? If they serve breakfast, then they can call it a B & B, though it looks like a resort/inn to me.

Now, CT, you know that's not right. Hotels can't say they're B&B's just because you get breakfast! They can have a 'B&B pkg' but they can't say they're B&B's.
The article said they were taking reservations. I've noticed lately that quite a few places are not up to date on their avail calendar. Lots of places I've looked at this past week that state quite clearly that they 'Open May 1!' show avail right now. Innkeepers really should be on the ball about that stuff.
As to the rest of it, apparently if you have enough money you can do whatever you want. Look at the 'Bingo parlor casino' that was told about the raid in advance. They closed for a couple of hours, woke a judge up out of his bed, got a stay and went right back to suckering the masses into coughing up their hard-earned dollars.

Oh...you get what I meant :) They look pretty opulent..but they still only have 9 rooms..so that can be a B & B / Inn.

At $3400/night, it ain't no stinkin' B&B! I think that's some extra building they have, tho.

And here is the actual size of the place, altho the writer doesn't seem too sure of that...33,000 sq ft is not a 'B&B.' It's a resort or an 'inn.' They are using the term 'B&B' to make the whole thing sound innocuous. Most people who might fight something like this will be soothed by 'B&B' given that anyone who has been to a B&B knows it is NOT a 33,000 sq ft MANSION with 19 rooms, lounge & restaurant.
Last month, the business began to take reservations for its 19-room, 33,000-square-foot Tuscan-style mansion, which includes an upscale restaurant and lounge, and a $3,400-per-night penthouse.
