Creating Packages (Per Person or Per Room?)
When you create packages for folks other than couples (say a girlfriend getaway or a mancation- hate that term, BTW) do you price it out as per person or per room?
I'm thinking of doing a pkg that I would price per person, double occ, rather than by room. Do you find this works, doesn't work, depends on the pkg being offered? I guess I look at it a few different ways: 1. the price looks lower per person; 2. it's easier for me to price it that way; 3. it's easier to keep track of '$99/person' rather than 'it depends on what room you choose' which involves multiple price points. (In the 'per person' scenario, someone might get a better deal than someone else, but I'm hoping to price it out fairly evenly. Or even add a simple 'upgrade fee' for certain rooms.)
If someone wants to cram 3 people in one room, it's still $99/person. If they only want 2, it's still $99/person. The only thing it wouldn't be valid for is one person in the room.

We package everything per person, but if there are certain unrecoverable costs we will say that each package is based on double occupancy, so even if only one person is staying in the room they will be responsible for the cost of the package for 2 people.

There would be the 'unrecoverable costs' associated with it. I could have a 'single supplement' in that case, something I hate, so I'd rather go with the 'per person, d.o.' rule.
