That story (especially the end) is just about the scariest I've ever read.Pretty much everything Uncle Stevie wrote in his first ten years of publication was the scariest thing I ever read and added another category of things to be afraid of (Carrie=proms, Cujo=big dogs, Christine=old cars, The Stand=flu-like viruses) but that is one of his best short stories. It was published in the book Night Shift, FYI.

Fold them in fourths lengthwise; spritz with starch; iron one side down then the other. With the fitted sheets, also fold them in quarters the Martha Stewart way and then lengthwise again, spritz and iron. Resign yourself to wrinkles on the fitted sheets - there's no other way.
