This is a terrific video I hope you get a chance to view it (with sound).

A few innmates have experienced some of the locations on this film and they did not cover, by any means, a big chunk of what happens here, the lakes, the mountains, esp the music scene which is diverse. http://www.thetechnologycouncil.com/region

The page also gives more details about this region.  As I have told many people as they call Roanoke "Charlottesville's quirky little sister" that it is a happenin' place.  A funky small city with everything at your fingertips.

I was really impressed by Roanoke...it has a cool, funky vibe along with being a nice Southern mid-sized city.  I would love to explore the New River Valley area more...it is breathtaking!  My nephew went to VA Tech and I visited Blacksburg a couple of times.  I saw Boudreaux in Blacksburg in the film which is a great place to eat.  Also, some Roanoke spots that are very interesting.  Dude....do you think the guy was going to rent the cool apartment for half of what the awful "studio" in NYC would cost?  lol!
