A long time ago, I was a piano teacher. It was fun. I really liked the teaching part, and (most of) the rest of it.
But I have decided that innkeeping has a distinct advantage.
When that person-to-whom-the-rules-do-not-apply checks out, they are gone. I don't have to dread their return each week, or the inevitable and uncomfortable termination of a one-sided working relationship. They're just GONE. And, in the event they decide in the future to request another stay, I have the decline button.
I cannot fathom why they would come back, but then again, I cannot fathom many of the actions they took while here.
Off to enjoy my afternoon.
