Description

The perfect use for Nutella....a toll house flavored muffin with a heart of chocolate!

Ingredients

2cflour
2tspbaking powder
1tsalt
3⁄4cbrown sugar
1⁄2cmelted butter
1 egg
3⁄4chalf and half or milk
1tspvanilla
1pkinstant hot chocolate

Instructions

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt.  Set aside

I a larger bowl, mix together brown sugar and melted butter and vanilla.   Beat in one egg, add 3/4c half and half or whole milk.   Stir in dry ingredients.  If it is too thick, add a little more milk...it should just "flow".

Filled lined muffin tin about 1/3 full.  Add a teaspoon or so of Nutella or other Chocolate hazelnut spread.  Top with remaining batter.  Bake at 375 until lightly brown.  Dust with powdered hot chocolate while hot.  YUM!

Notes

Always a hit here.  Good later too if they last, the butter flavor comes out more.

Note:  Nutella muffin on right side of photo; blueberry with brown sugar topping on left...

oh my gosh, I will have to make them immediately - I happen to have a great bunch of guest who are out, all of them, enjoying the area and I am twirling my fingers.  Oh how I love stuff like that. Thanks for posting it

You can use 1/3 c butter and skim milk and they will still be good....but what the heck, not for everyday, but when you want something special this WILL do.   I also do dried cherry chocolate chip on occasion for fellow chocoholics, sub out white sugar and 1/3c oil. 1 c chopped dried cherries and 1 c choc. chips.. if you throw in some almond flavoring they taste like chocolate covered cherries!

So I made them this morning and didn't bake them long enough.  I was too impatient.  they tasted alright, I think I need to have a go at it again tomorrow.
