Instructions

Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Line a lipped cookie sheet with foil (for ease of cleaning). Put bacon slices on the foil and bake for about 15 minutes. Take pan out of oven, turn bacon slices over and put back in oven for another 5  to 7 minutes or until as crisp as you like. Drain on paper towels.

I'm testing now with four slices (thick) for tonight's BLTs.  DH could be here any time, or quite late so it's a dinner that doesn't rely on timing - BLT and a salad

I have an NSF thermometer in the oven that matches the stated 350 on the temp selector, still the bacon, in lipped cookie sheet lined with foil, took half an hour to get sufficiently done on one side, I flipped it, turned the oven on convection and upped the temp to 375.  It's been in for 5 more minutes - just checked,  needs a minute or so more.  So with thick sliced and my oven, I'll use 375F and convection.

Still very little spatter this way.

I use a 400 convection setting with good results.  Just keep an eye on the bacon and drain if it gets smoky.

You can also sprinkle with brown sugar and/or pepper.

Sounds better for this than on the griddle.  the sugared bacon slices are so touchy to time, and make such a sticky mess.
