White Hot Chocolate

Description

Rich and creamy, this hot cocoa has interesting aromas and flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and almonds.

Ingredients

  • 1⁄4 c half and half
  • 2⁄3 c white chocolate (or vanilla) baking chips
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1⁄8 t nutmeg
  • 2 3⁄4 c half & half
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 1⁄4 t almond extract

Instructions

In a saucepan, combine first measurement of cream, vanilla chips, cinnamon stick and nutmeg.  Stir over low heat until chips are melted.  Discard cinnamon stick (sometimes I wait until it's finished to discard the cinnamon stick depending on how fresh the stick is).

Add remaining cream and stir until heated through.  Remove from heat and stir in extracts.  Sprinkle each serving with ground cinnamon, if desired.

Not sure if this is the same recipe my daughter made us for Christmas Eve but it is very yummy...  Did not even want to think of the extra that was going on the hips...
