Stuffed strawberries

Description

A happy little amuse bouche for garnish.

Ingredients

1 medium-large strawberry
1 whipped cream
1pnfinely chopped walnuts

Instructions

Use as many strawberries as you have plates to garnish. Slice stem end off strawberry to make flat surface to stand strawberry on end. Carefully slice from tip of strawberry down to base without cutting all the way thru. Do this twice, making an X (cutting strawberry into quarters without cutting all the way thru). Using can of whipped cream, fill center of sliced strawberry until whipped cream comes out at the tip of strawberry. Quickly dip whipped cream-topped strawberry tip into finely chopped walnut pieces. Place on plate as garnish, serve immediately. Easier to make in advance in the morning and then place on plate as needed.

Can also use cannoli cream for this (but I didn't have any whipping cream tonight so I had to use what I had). Cannoli cream would have to be piped into sliced strawberry.

If you have fresh mint, make a 'leaf' base for the strawberry to sit on.

We served them yesterday and they were gone in a flash. Everyone seemed to like them. It's such an easy little garnish and hubs wants to do more plate decor this year so I might just serve them more often.
