This system has lots of power and options.  It is put out by the people behind BedandBreakfast.com.  It had a great deal of power as a desktop based guest managment system and has options for credit card processing, real time web based booking engine, integration with QuickBooks, and the ability to market rooms through the GDS system, as well as availability calendars for your website.

I have used Desktop RezOvation for a number of years now.  It did take me some time to learn it as I had previously used Guest Tracker.  I was able to convert my data from Guest Tracker so it didn't have to be re-input.  One thing that I could do in Guest Tracker that I can't do in RezOvation is create my own reports.  I can only run the canned reports that come with the program and don't have the ability to change them.  I would have to pay to have any custom reports created.

Other than that I have been pleased with RezOvation.

That is good to know.  In SuperInn you can't create your own reports either.  There are tons of existing reports though.

What do you use for an availability calendar / reservation system and does it "talk to" RezOvation Desktop?

I use Webervations and absolutely love it.  As I had stated in another thread about 50% of our reservations come through Webervations, maybe more because I had to find a way to identify Webervation reservations in RezOvation so I list Webervations as an agent but of course I have to include that when inputting the information int RezOvation and sometimes I forget.

As far as I know I can't upload the reservation information from Webervations to RezOvation so I have to manually input it.  A little time consuming but no problem.

I went into ResNexeus and as far as I can see there isn't much difference in the way it looks on the website and the way Webervations looks on my website.  Both are transparent to the perspective guest and for the differnce in cost I'd definitely stick with Webervations.  Willy and any other staff at Webervations have always been extremely helpful.

You may want to look into the Rezovation booking engine.  It seems to be very powerful and would save you from doing the double entry.  It can also do the actual processing of the credit cards too.  I know they were running some upgrade specials, not sure if they are still in effect.

We only have three units so I would rather do the double entry and pay $90/year tather than $50/month.

This is the online reservation system I use.  Yes there is a charge each month. I like the total set-up. I like the calendar, information, reports, etc.  They helped to customize it to my needs.  I pay a set fee, no commission.

I was hesitant to use anything for an online reservation system.  Wanted to be hands on, well several times I have been extremely glad that I have it. I know I have gotten bookings, because I had online reservations and others in the area did not. I can do my lodging tax report on it and send in the tax in about 10 minutes.
