InnQuire With Us! - Uniquely Talented, Exceptional, Global Innsitting Services

InnQuire With Us was formed as a natural professional and personal progression to offer exceptional Inn-sitting and consulting services. We know from personal experience that one needs to look hard when seeking qualified, passionate, professional assistance in running your Inn, and we’re confident that our background is quite simply second-to-none.

We are Derek & Wendy Wood and have been married since 1998 .  We are uniquely qualified to work alongside, or in your absence for a day, a week, a month or more. Our paths crossed in 1989 as we both transferred into our Junior year of college, at one of the leading Hospitality Management Colleges in the country at the time. Already having several years of hands-on hospitality training behind us, we began a rigorous academic curriculum with extensive “in the trenches”, real life training while simultaneously working outside the school to help fund our tuition. Seeing that we were both new transfers to the program, the program director introduced the two of us while catering our first function together, and suggested we would make a great couple…and the rest, as they say is history.

A quick summary of our experience:

  •   Business Degrees in Hospitality Management + Full Culinary Degree with honors
  •   Full service, multi-unit restaurant management
  •   Large Chain, 4-Diamond Hotel Restaurant General Manager
  •   Large Chain, 4-Diamond Hotel – multidisciplinary, including sales, front desk, concierge, and catering/banquets
  •   10+ years running private Bed &Breakfasts in New York and Colorado
  •   10+ years self employed/entrepreneur
  •   Personal, extensive desire to both learn and live a radiant and healthy through diet, exercise and a love of the outdoors

I appreciate that.  I wish I could have edited my initial post, as the website was note included.  It is www.innquirewithus.com.

Nice to be a part.

Thank you....as soon as I completed the post, I realized the website had not been included.  Unfortunately I was not able to edit after saving, so here it is: www.innquirewithus.com.

I would strongly suggest you post a website link as a search on your names does not bring up a warm and fuzzy list of wonderfulness.

Searching on your biz name brings up a list where the first item says 'cute-couple.jpg'. Again, not reassuring to an inn owner.

Odd how Google search works sometimes, but thank you for pointing it out.  As soon as I completed the post, I realized the website had not been included.  Unfortunately I was not able to edit after saving, so here it is: www.innquirewithus.com.

The missing link!

I saw you have a website, you need the link here.

Thank you for posting your info. If you have references from past inns, please share those on your website, at first glance I saw your bios, but no actual references, that is what we innkeepers are always looking for! Real experiences from previous interim innkeeper positions.

Thank you for sharing yourselves with the forum.

I clearly understand the need for references, and we intend to post them.....as we get them.  The website itself is brand new, although we have many years in full service, actual/hands on innkeeping in addition to our more corporate, large hotel and restaurant experience.

The service we offer with InnQuire With Us was truly intended to be more of a full time venture in the future....as in when the kids are out of the houseSmiling  So, that leaves the present to work on an as-needed basis to get the new references to build our portfolio/references.  With that said, we're already lined up to assist a long time innkeeper here in CO.  The owner is closing the inn for the first time in 11 years to have some down time, and we're keeping the reservations going in their absence.

Nice to have some dialogue on this wonderful site.  It looks to be an exceptional resource!

Your photography is lovely. If you can do photos for inns, you could also add that to your resume.Smiling

Good luck.
