Happy Turkey Day to you Swirt! I just found out yesterday that dh & I are both descended from the same family line of Mayflower Pilgrims! We are very very distant cousins, making my son a cousin to himself! HA!!! Cue banjo music. Thank goodness there are 500 years and a thousand other branches...

We've had some repeats, mostly those visiting family in town, who used to stay at another B&B that closed (retired but kept the house) and we are the one B&B in town that is most like that B&B...Some that have also come back for special event/festival dates... They get the perks! Lowest rate...

I mean, has it resulted in bookings or referrals from locals? We don't get a lot of this, but we get a lot of looky loos, folks that want the tour for future family stays... We can only do dinners/teas for overnight guests, everything else must be catered...no commercial kitchen...our county...

Anyone heard of Open Road Guidebooks? What is the protocol for dealing with writers? The writer who contacted us from this company asked for a free room and said they may want to feature us.... After reading about the Rachael Ray fiasco, I'm not sure I even want to deal with this. I'm not sure...

I agree, your rates are way too low, with your award references and the amenities you offer, I would expect to pay double the rate you have listed, you have all rooms with private baths, a huge plus!! Raise those rates baby!
