Inns for sale that are not inns

It's actually pretty frustrating for the owner of the listing site, in my experience. I get a ton of listings that are clearly not inns, but it's hard telling a realtor (or property owner) that no, they can't list a home. Typically if the intent seems genuine (the property really could be a...

Buy the business, lease the property?

Hi Folks, I recieved a new listing over the weekend, and I was curious about your opinions. The B&B business is for sale for $30,000 and does not include real estate. The real estate can be leased on a monthly basis. I haven't seen this before. It's certainly a way to run a B&B with low startup...

OH MY! I know these people!

We've been to the winery a few times...they were always a little snooty to us, and it's been something of a joke among our friends. I was reading the story this morning and could not believe it when I saw their names. Seems like a really dumb thing to try to do - and especially dumb to brag...

    Buying An Inn Question

Thanks for the heads up on the pricing discrepancy. I spoke with the broker this morning and confirmed the new (lower) price. Zach

    New digital camera

I'll second that recommendation. I have the previous model, and my in-laws also have the TZ5. Good all around camera at that price point, with a really nice zoom.

    Ocean City, MD? Recommends?

We have relatives who rent a townhouse in Ocean City. It's in a nice neighborhood along the bay side, within walking distance to the beach at 32nd street. The neighborhood specifically discourages renting to "teenagers who want to party", so it's a nice quiet spot. It's probably too big for a...

Inn for sale on Bedandbreakfast.com, bbonline and innshopper directories

I just changed the data on nuwireinvestor.com - if you'd like me to remove it from there entirely just let me know. Some of this content gets cached in google so it may take a while before it stops showing up in search results. Zach

When being an AVERAGE innkeeper feels pretty good.

Congratulations, and thanks for adding the listing! The picture of the sunset on the lake is gorgeous - someone is going to see that and fall in love. Zach

Site Sharing tools: AddThis, ShareThis, AddtoAny

I think there was big load time problem with users of sharethis a while back. I really like your points about addtoany, that may convince me to switch. The actual functionality isn't much different between the three anyway, although some do offer better back-end analytics (how many people...

Site Sharing tools: AddThis, ShareThis, AddtoAny

I've been seeing these tools on websites for quite a while, and decided last week to install one myself (I went with AddThis.com) Basically, these are tools that allow site visitors to easily share (via Facebook, Digg, Twitter, email, etc.) or bookmark web pages. In theory, by making it easy to...

Why No Virginia Listings on InnMarketing?

You may also want to consider an RSS feed of Virginia listings, so that as they are added you get automatically notified. Virginia Inn for Sale RSS Feed Virginia Inns for Sale This is probably bordering on shameless self promotion, but hopefully it is useful for you Zach

Smithton Inn, Ephrata, PA - Anyone know about this one?

I didn't see you include a link to the listing but found it here: http://www.eliotdalton.com/Inns/smithton_inn.html I don't know anything about the area, but the price seems attractive. I have a few nearby listings that are all priced considerably higher.

    B&B realtor

I see his name pop up in a lot of different places - he definitely does a good job of promoting himself and his site. There are 5 or 6 previously sold listings on his website. I bet the current and former innkeepers of those properties would have good insight.

    Post card marketing

Postcards can have funny postage quirks that are worth keeping in mind. A "first class" postcard rate is cheaper than a regular stamp, don't just put a normal stamp on it. If your postcard dimensions exceed 6 inches long by 4-1/4 inches high then you will pay about 50% more in postage.
