Guess I always wondered for those who sell/retire, what do you do next? I followed several career paths in life, running a lodging business was supposed to be a retirement venture. We need a section on the forum for keeping in touch with friends that retired or moved on to bigger and better things.

From what I see Tesla has rolled out a couple of the "Tesla dock" chargers in California and maybe 8 or 10 in New York, maybe that process has begun. Tesla connector sure is nicer than the CSS connector.

A Porsche EV likely wouldn't fit my budget so I drive a Chevy Bolt EUV but carry an adaptor that would allow me to use your Tesla destination charger. Sadly, not useful at superchargers but nice to see that they are rolling out some availability for lesser makes...

Folks visit at peak times and conclude that an area needs more rooms as they never see the slow times.

I hope to fill all rooms on weekends and weekends require both nights. If we are a day or two prior to the weekend the system will allow a single night with a small surcharge [$10] if a room is still available.

Agree 100%, perhaps is someone is looking to sell the high occupancy numbers help impress but don't always increase the bottom line. After a point, more guests mean more work, mine or hired and more expense including the long-term expense from wear and tear. Mindset maybe, I'm happy at what I do...

Mark, glad you are here and enjoying your dream. We're an odd one with an 8-room motel, over 30 years now and still having fun. I was lucky and found this forum about 10 years ago.

I like text and email as well, for me mostly that when I think of something to say it's probably not a good time to call someone. As a pack rat, I can save emails to remember what was said.

We also use Reservation Key for our 8-room motel. I find it more reasonable than many, fits our needs, and I think you can use/try for a month without charge to see if it fits your needs. I use our local Wells-Fargo Bank for my credit card machine and through them, Authorize for online payments...

Anyone use a "Ring" or that type doorbell? Don't have to be home to talk with a guest with a question and in our case, it alerts daughter next door so she can come over if we are away.
