Help Support Bed & Breakfast / Short Term Rental Host Forum:
Hi .... my name is Lori and I am attempting to revive a mom and pop motel. I came here to clean three rooms for some hunters who were coming in last fall, and now I find myself running the place. Scary and fun, all rolled into one. I came here for support and advice. I really need to come up with some ideas quickly, as we have a total of zero customers at the moment (yikes!).
The owner is a really great guy and helps me all he can. We are learning the philosophy of "The Secret" and trying to apply it not only to our lives, but to this business venture. It gives me hope that we will be a success.
I'm located in a small town in Iowa. I've got a winery about 2 miles from here and a casino about 3 miles away. I should have no problem getting guests.
We are striving for a 'home away from home' atomosphere. I try to help the guests feel at home, as many we have had have to live on the road and are tired of impersonal motels.
