Yes, I am independent. I usually have researched the are before I go - had I known the day we were going to King Ludwig's castle I would have had the tickets in advance instead of having to wait in line for oever an hour so my brother would not look DUH!
Just had tonight's guests arrive. Since she told me her husband was off today, I routed them , once she said they like waterfalls, to a State Park wth fantastic waterfalls, gorgeous leaf-peeping, and a covered bridge. She was so excited when they arived! They loved the route and saw 3 seperate rainbows! They actually followed MY direction to get here when the GPS told them something different - she said MY way cut 10 minutes off the drive. I love these folks already!! Tomorrow more covered bridges and the winery and Sunday when they go home, I will take them to Arthurdale - the first New Deal settlement. I LOVE impressing guests with our routings - and they like not having to stumble around in an unknown area and missing the interesting things..

Yes, I'm all for that sort of thing and I'll do a lot of that too. I want them to have a good time, and I know more than they ever will about our area, so I want to share that. But they have to wipe their own nose (I was going to say something a little different, but thought better of it. Swirt appreciates a forum with decorum).

Was thinking of you as at nearly 8pm "wing nut" rings our bell. I go out and he asks me "What time can you have breakfast for me, I have to tee off at..." I told him what time breakfast was, it is in the confirmation and it is also on a chalk board tablet right on the table. "Well I saw that but what time can you have it for ME, I have to leave early and it is an hour drive to the golf course?" I told him the time we have breakfast tomorrow then asked "I hope your wife can join us."
He then proceeded to ask me how to get there. Get where? How do I know where you are going? He asked "The same way we came in?" What am I your wife, was I in the vehicle with you?
THIS is what this thread is about. I DO NOT, hand-hold these guests, ever. But his wife sure does. While he was fluttering around at check in time, she said to me "He really likes pancakes" I said, that's good to know. (???) MOMMA MOMMA!!!
So you were thought of, little did you know. Now others will say I am a bad innkeeper, I should meet all the guests needs, we are in the service industry! BAD BAD JB!
No tickie no showy...give us advance notice, perhaps, ring the bell at the end of a very long day, no.
