Absoulutely, the listening part is hard. Audiologist once said dad was not hard of hearing, he was hard of listening! It takes time to listen. Most just assume what is being said. You can't meet someone's needs unless you LISTEN.

I don't think listening is a skill many innkeepers are lacking. BEING listened to, now that's a whole other story...

And it isn't always just what is being said that matters. Sometimes it is what is meant that is more important.
