Bed and Breakfast BLOG - How many of you have a blog? Would you care to share it?

So I found this great blog and I wanted to share some of the clever titles and blog articles...I am posting this one and the link so you can read more, enjoy this, you deserve a chuckle today.

Do you find that some days you'd just like to be mean? You know it's not good for your heart and your soul but it will really helps your frame of mind sometimes. Now I don't mean MEAN...violent or profane(although I've been known to get a little potty mouth from time to time) or to ever physically hurt someone(although I would like to slap a few folks)or be destructive(although I did kick a dent in my car door when it slammed on my finger) and lord knows I would never say out loud some of the things I'm thinking(although I've written them down before). But sometimes, it becomes a survival thing...you know...if you don't do something, your head's gonna blow up. Now, that could be bad, not to mention messy. So I'm just giving fair warning to anyone reading this that this may...just may not be a good day to cross my path. Now I know you're shaking in your boots andskerred [/FONT]but I felt it my civic duty to let you know. ALRIGHT...what just happened....as I wrote the last word the screen went blank and a big[COLOR= rgb(255, 0, 0)] RED [COLOR= rgb(0, 0, 0)]error label started flashing. I knew it, I've always believed that these *$#!@ machines weren't of this earth. And you know what!!...I just stuck my tongue out at this screen and I'm gonna cut it's butt off when I finish and if it comes back on I'm gonna lay it in the middle of Highway #311 in front of Paint Bank General Store and laugh when a logging truck runs over it and drags it's little bitty unrecognizable parts all the way to Lewisburg, W.V.!!!!!!! Whew...Mama...Boy do I feel better. So I guess it's safe...I've been cleansed. Y'all can come on to Paint Bank now...I won't bite. Then,when you come out of Paint Bank General Store just walk across the street and say Hey...I'll say Hey back at 'cha. You'll know me, I'm the one with the Fairy Princess outfit and magic wand in her hand, singing It's a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood. [/COLOR][/COLOR]

Thanks I am new to this. That inncuisine site is pretty nice. I am a photography person so I enjoy taking the pictures for the blog so far.

I have had a blog for a while. I try to write every week, but did some drafts and when I published them, they published all under the date I did them instead of the day I published them. Bummer.
I write about what is going on at the quilt museum, things happening in town, places we go to eat, etc.

Loading the blog into an iframe is a bad idea. From a traffic/search point of view it is a bad idea Anybody arriving by way of search engines to the blog get this

You can set the number of posts per page (not you, the blog author). Or set it by date so if you blog a lot, it shows a week's worth and then opens a folder to put the previous week's blogs into.
Mine it set by month because I don't blog that much. I also have a running list on the left panel of 'Important blogs' where I put the ones I want guests to read most. My own ramblings are not in there...just things to do or see!
It also depends on which template you pick how it formats. Some of them format so that it is a long blog, others so that it is shorter. It's like formatting how you read this forum, except the blogger gets to pick the format, not the reader.

and when I published them, they published all under the date I did them instead of the day I published them.
You can change the date. There is a little link under the editing box that says "Post Options". Click that and then you can make the date whatever you want it to be.

Do you find that some days you'd just like to be mean? You know it's not good for your heart and your soul but it will really helps your frame of mind sometimes. Now I don't mean MEAN...violent or profane(although I've been known to get a little potty mouth from time to time) or to ever physically hurt someone(although I would like to slap a few folks)or be destructive(although I did kick a dent in my car door when it slammed on my finger) and lord knows I would never say out loud some of the things I'm thinking(although I've written them down before). But sometimes, it becomes a survival thing...you know...if you don't do something, your head's gonna blow up. Now, that could be bad, not to mention messy. So I'm just giving fair warning to anyone reading this that this may...just may not be a good day to cross my path. Now I know you're shaking in your boots andskerred [/FONT]but I felt it my civic duty to let you know. ALRIGHT...what just happened....as I wrote the last word the screen went blank and a big[COLOR= rgb(255, 0, 0)] RED [COLOR= rgb(0, 0, 0)]error label started flashing. I knew it, I've always believed that these *$#!@ machines weren't of this earth. And you know what!!...I just stuck my tongue out at this screen and I'm gonna cut it's butt off when I finish and if it comes back on I'm gonna lay it in the middle of Highway #311 in front of Paint Bank General Store and laugh when a logging truck runs over it and drags it's little bitty unrecognizable parts all the way to Lewisburg, W.V.!!!!!!! Whew...Mama...Boy do I feel better. So I guess it's safe...I've been cleansed. Y'all can come on to Paint Bank now...I won't bite. Then,when you come out of Paint Bank General Store just walk across the street and say Hey...I'll say Hey back at 'cha. You'll know me, I'm the one with the Fairy Princess outfit and magic wand in her hand, singing It's a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood. [/COLOR][/COLOR]

Loading the blog into an iframe is a bad idea. From a traffic/search point of view it is a bad idea Anybody arriving by way of search engines to the blog get this

Somebody tried to get clever with this and ended up making a mess.

I got a kick out of them. I would NEVER post that sort of personal stuff on a blog. I think familiarity breeds contempt! ha ha

I am considering starting a blog, for obvious reasons. Any suggestions on which program to use and the most popular topics to cover? It would be for the BnB of course. I am sure I would not be into posting recipes and personal info on the internet. Can you just populate the blog with other blog articles on a feed or do you need to write author and authenticate each article yourself? Does anyone ask their guests to email you photos from their stay and post those on your blog? How successful has that been? Are guests willing to do this?

First off, I would definitely include recipes as they are good for search terms. And little personal bits are ok, just not over the top.
I don't think I'd want feeds from other blogs on mine because you can't control what the other sites post about. You may get a feed that is prefectly innocuous and then they go off on a tear about something you feel the opposite about or feel is not appropriate for your audience and you've led your audience right to them.
Yes, I have had guests email photos and I've requested permission to use them. It has worked nicely.
Photos, good ones and lots of them are great for a blog. Area events, things to do, etc. Give the guests a preview of what there is in the area.
