Got my left eye done today. Getting drops every hour - my good friend who was my chauffeur is coming every hour because we have to keep taking the cage off my eye to put in the drops. Her husband is designated babysitter tomorrow to take me to the follow-up (she has to tend to another of her "children" - her brother-in-law who never had to do anything for himself until Deb's sister died)
I am. using a magnifying glass to read my e-mail today - my implanted lenses are for distance and today between the cage & the drops, it is best. May need reading glasses when this is finished. But I can SEE!!!
I have an appointment Wednesday to get my reading glasses. I am now 20/25 in both eyes so will only need the readers.

Did you get your vision fixed or is this cataracts? My mother went from the worst vision ever to not having to wear glasses, but she did need reading glasses. Hoping everything goes great.

Cataracts. Seeing better already. Theisue today is that now both eyes hace distance lenses implanted - reading glasses will possibly be in the future. Monday my right eye had 20/25 vision. Will know about the left eye tomorrow (the next day follow-up with the right eye was 20/40). Deb has a busy day tomorrow so she told me I am going to bed at 8 tonight after those drops.

Around here, the standard lenses are free, but the better lenses are $100 extra. My mom ended with 20/20 vision, but after living her whole life with glasses, couldn't imagine living without them. So she wears her reading glasses all the time (as bifocals)

It has been nice going through the last 2 weeks without poking myself in the face (pushing up glases). Have worn glasses since I was 11. I think I am going to enjoy being without them. I will have to go to the DMV to get my license amended to remove the corrective lens restriction.

It's pretty cool. I buy my reading glasses on AZ in packs, since I lose them. I wear them on my head, in my pockets, on my desk...

Using a mag glass this morning since both eyes are now distance AND have drops in both. Grrr. See better now though, just not close up. Also have cage over left eye until the follow up this afternoon.

Good for you! It's a great feeling to be able to wake up and see the numbers on the alarm clock without spectacles. I got lasik 12 years ago after wearing glasses & contacts for 20 years. Best investment ever!

It’s like miracle when you finally get to see without glasses. It happened to me 20 years ago with Lasik surgery...20/300 to 20/20 in a day....just amazing. Be patient. It takes awhile for the brain to adjust to the change. So glad this is working out for you!

I am going to have to get reading glasses for close-up because the lenes that were implanted are for distnce. I have a lot of difference just today with the left eye. I have to find a saline drop that my regular guy was going to give me but wanted to see what the opthal said. He agreed - I have corneal edema - not bad but they want it gone.Could not find it at 2 stops yesterday - will go to a pharmacy in town today - had too much happening yesterday. Still cold and windy today.

Try going on-line too. Sometimes you can find saline with no additives there and get it delivered tomorrow!

Got it yesterday at the pharmacy in town. That crap was not cheap - oh weel, it IS for my eyes and they are important.
Got the bill from the doc for the first eye - if I pay within 30 days I get a 20% discount - almost $40! The hospital and gas passer and whjoever else coming out of the woodwork will be interesting...... I was awake enough to hear everything, see the shadows in front of my eye, but with enough joy juice that I felt nothing. Within 5 minutes of him being done I was stnding up so they could put me in a wheelchair - they were short on beds and needed it quickly. I wlaked out half hour later.

I am so happy for you. As you know my eye surgery was not successful ... so I anxiously wait for results to speak. but I am always glad to hear when it is !!!

The Thursday follow-up I felt like I was looking through a sheer. It has gotten better. Wednesday I have a follow-up with my regular eye doctor. I am now using a saline drop to try to remove the corneal edema - that sucker stings! One drop for the right eye ean out so that eye fets one kind twice a day and another one 4 times. The left eye is getting two kinds 4 times a day and the other twice. Both eyes get the saline drops 4 times. Four more weeks of drops. So far so good.

Congratulations. I got my Lasik done recently. I can see crystal clear now just that my eyes have become super sensitive now.
