I saw this for the first time this morning...'translate this page' pops up at the top of a newly opened web page. Allows your site to be translated into quite a long list of languages. (Can't do photos, so make sure you have text outside your photos.)

So I assume you have to install the code for this feature on the site??? Can you point us to an example?

It popped up automatically on Firefox this morning. I didn't do anything. You can set it to always translate a page/site into a particular language so the bar goes away. I can' find my screenshot icon right now or I could show you what it looks like.
It's a toolbar at the top of the website but below all my normal toolbars. It's called a translation bar but I don't know how I got it.
It has options to translate into a different language, always translate into English (or another language) or 'no thanks' and if your hit 'no thanks' the tool bar goes away until you go to a different website.

Hmmm my firefox doesn't do that...but I don't use the google tool bar so maybe that is why.

This slightly paranoid forum has me afraid to post any links, or even mention any names, so I'll play the game and say you should go to b a b e l f i s h dot y a h o o dot c o m and on the right side click "Add bf translation to your site". This will let you put a button on your website that translates your site into whatever language the user selects from a dropdown list.

Just because we're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get us.

Just make sure that you use the "alt" tag with your photos.

It's supposed to be for the visually impaired, but I know search engines read it as well.
