Just got back and threw this together quickly. The winds were picking up...so I think this will be peak on our part of the Drive this weekend.

Nice!
I have guests visiting from Asheville because the leaves are already done down there. I had to laugh as we are way behind them. Here is a photo from NC Mountains. I LOVE FALL!

Nice! If our 1978 MGB was running, we'd be able to go up to the mountains North of us and take some photos like that. hahaha....

Just took this image, it is a balmy warm 75 degree overcast day with lovely gusts of wind.

Cool! Your leaf colors are much more vibrant than ours. Warm here too and wind is really picking up. There go the leaves :-(

How beautiful! I miss it so much, we are still green here and we are hoping to take a trip this weekend to see fall in AR---

one more from today..
Guests are using the porch as a footpath for their rolling luggage only, the rockers and wicker sits vacant...the air is a perfect warm and balmy 75 degrees with a gentle breeze helping the leaves to drift slowly off the trees earthbound. Cars whiz past and stir them from the path out front and the sound is as fun as the color! (sorry I compressed this one it is not that brilliant as it was)

Sugar Maples are awesome......colors are fantastic, that and, the leaves fall early.
Our Sugar Maples here are just about done.
This fall is quite unusual....Ornamental Pears are in color change right now, some are advanced enough to start dropping. This is the earliest it has ever been since the Pears were introduced in my area...Most years they don't drop till just after Thanksgiving. Or mid to late December.
All other deciduous trees are a bit advanced. We are into full color, more so in about a week.....Just that everything is advanced this year a bit, where it concerns dropping.....I'm expecting an early end of my season. Wouldn't be surprised if we have an all at once drop. Like we did hear some years back........Everything dropped in 3 days time, just before Thanksgiving.

You are SO creative! That is a great photo, as well as the other one below here. We just do NOT get Fall colors here and I really, really miss that. It's on the list for the last move. :)

I got out as the sun was setting, I was determined to get some color photos and it went down and I only got a couple, the EYES saw much brighter images than the camera took...but here is a sample from our area tonight 102910.

Gorgeous. You still have way more leaves than we do. the last few days of wind has blown most of our away :-(

Bye bye Fall! Thanks for the show.

Same time next year..
My Summer flowers are still on the porch. Although we've had some cool dips, it was 81F today. More seasonal for the next few days with low 70s/mid 40s. This has been the warmest October/November since we've lived here.....

As I keep saying, I MISS Fall! We just do not have these intense colors in the Deep South with all the live oaks and other varieties of trees. Fall is so short. My dogwoods go from green to brown and I never get the truly beautiful reds that I'm used to from where I grew up. sigh..... So, thanks for sharing!!
