Google places performance report

I just got this from Google as an e-mail. I thought it might be of interest to folks here.

Do you have to be signed up for GOOGLE Places to get this or what?

Google is going to rule the world!
I have a love hate realtionship with google.
I think, not just for me, it is a bad position to be in where 70% or more of a sites traffic come from Google. I wish bing, yahoo, and google all had equal market share and each their own index (bings index now runs Yahooo)

I recently got a plaque in the mail to display as a "Google Favorite Place"...looks like because mine was one of the 100,000 most visited places on google for the first half of the year...or whatever.

I received this email as well. It might be that you need to create a "Google Local" account AND/OR use Google Analytics. I do both, so I'm not sure what got me on the list.
I do know that our B&B is shown on Google Maps and Google Earth with a little bed icon and our info from Google Local pops up when you mouseover.
