(Question for the experts) Are gif's a no no now? I am not talking about animated gifs, maybe that is what they find is bad, and I agree 100%, no dancing elves or angels please, no scrolling text, no blinking lights, etc

I have no dancing gifs, but I do have one because it was easier to do that than a jpeg.

nothing wrong with those gifs, I think anything with flashing animation is what the no no is. Unless someone tells us otherwise. Gif is better for basic text based images.

Rule is : jpg=photos, gif=graphic images I see nothing wrong with using a gif. But these days any time I create images I create .png
