We have the keypad lock system and I give each guest their own code. Easy for them to remember so no more 'I forgot what the code is' stuff. Well, eventually it had to happen...I entered what they put on their rez but it was a typo. For 3 rooms here together. Luckily, one of the rooms they had has an exterior entry door to which they had the key. All the guests entered thru that room when they returned late at night.
Verify, verify, verify.
I told them the code, showed it to them written down, explained what it was (lightbulbs went on) and they all agreed the code was correct.
Now I have to ask them to tell me their zip code rather than the other way around. Then I can verify it's what they told me when they booked and it's what I entered.
