See now I am surprised to hear that question from B&B'ers. I assumed that it is standard practice that the rooms would be picked up and made up. I thought that that is what makes the difference in experience.
I don't go into the cottages at all during a guest's stay. I offer to replace their towels and coffee and soaps, etc. But I often catch myself sort of apologizing at check-in for not coming through and straightening things out. So I started offering it as an add-on when making reservations online. Only one person took advantage of it since I put it out there.
Ugh, I blabber again without direction...
