DH coaches our high school NJROTC rifle team. Last week they had a match with a high school about 80 miles from here. Our team wiped the floor with them. One of the kids said to DH, "I am really glad you are our coach or we would look as bad as they do." We had 2 or 3 freshmen who scored less than their best shooters. DH used the other team as examples of what not to do - stance, etc. He has been coaching the NJROTC for 13 years now!
The Commander got another new assistant this year. He asked DH to really try to help the guy this year and then told the assistant that DH had forgotten more than either of them knew. At the Veterans Day Parade, DH was introduced to the assistant's wife - she thanked him soooo much for helping her husband to be successful. It made DH proud - especially what the kid said!
