NEW ULM, MINN. - The main house of the bed and breakfast that went up in flames on Saturday, killing six people, was not properly licensed or inspected for paying guests.
The city fire marshal did not conduct his annual fire inspection of the main house in December 2010 because he was told it was not going to be used for lodgers. City records show the owner did not apply for a license to use the main house for guests in 2011

This is a moot point now with the owner gone in the fire, but if she did not die, and she had 6 people die in this fire in this unlicensed uninspected B&B, what then?

Yes, it is the same one with new info

thing is it says it was all inspected in 2010 which isnt that long ago surely not that much will have changed? plus why didn't she have it all inspected just in case she wanted to take extra guests?

Actually it says it WAS NOT INSPECTED IN 2010. She did not have an occupancy permit to rent those rooms to guests.

Actually it says it WAS NOT INSPECTED IN 2010. She did not have an occupancy permit to rent those rooms to guests.

I read it quickly thought it said it was ie fire extinguishers and stuff.
