I just checked it again and it's looking great! Beautiful big pictures on the home page.
One small change I would still like...right now it reads "mention this code to your innkeeper to receive your reward" and I think it should say 'mention this code to your innkeeper at time of booking'. When I add the innrewards logo to my website, I don't want to give the discount to people after they've booked or are our loyal repeat guests ( do my special things for them)..
Good idea on the wording change.
So how are you going to handle the loyal repeats if they do ask for the Innreward when they book?

I'll give them the innreward but nothing else. We don't have a repeat guest discount, so it's pretty simple.
.
Thats the beauty of it. Its all about what you want to do!
We are working on fixing the glitch with the add URL. For now, if you click on Innkeepers you can see the add URL there.
We should have it fixed soon.

Can I ask that the top paragraph on the 'innkeepers' page be broken up into smaller bits. Sorry, I have the attention span of a twitterite.
If I understand the rules I offer whatever I want to offer, correct?
I would also want the wording to tell guests they must mention the offer when booking..
Its funny you should ask. We are working on that as we speak.

This is a project that started with just an idea. The beauty behind it comes from all of us working together to let people know how much better a B&B or Inn can be than chain properties (hotels, motels, condos, etc). This is a site intended to make a big difference in our businesses. We could really channel our guests into a great way to make reservations and help support all of us, by doing so. I know we are tired of the big dot.com companies that really do not care if we make any reservations from them or not -they just want our hundreds of dollars a year! But enough of that... you get the idea. Come sign up, it only takes a few minutes and it's really easy. No credit cards, or anything like that. If you are new to the site or have questions about it, please ask. Come help make a difference!
I do want to tell everyone that has offered opinions and input -and continue to do so- "Thank you for your time and willingness to help out!" I called PAII last week and talked to Sam. I told him I was pretty sure he'd never heard of the site, but went on to explain to him that a bunch of Innkeepers had come up with a new website called Innrewards.com and he told me (to my great pleasure!) that they had actually heard of it, talked about it and all think it's a great idea!! They want us to go ahead and use the "Better way to Stay" slogan. They also said they would like to help us out. After we get more people signed up and the site is finished, they said to let them know and they will make some kind of announcement. (Of course, even when it's "finished", our goal is to continue to stay on top of it, improving it as needed. We want to make it the very best it can be- to keep B&Bs and Inns going strong! :) So this will be a great thing for ALL of us! From all of us that have signed up already... We welcome you into the InnRewards family!.
Hey Bob! I signed up and activated my account. The page I have now shows To add your link click on the 'Add URL' buttons above and you will be taken to the 'Add URL' form.
There is no link on that page that is 'Add URL'. The 'Links' link takes me back to the same page.

Let me compliment Bob on his speedy reply AND the phone call! Nice to talk with you. (And now you know who I am...)

My only problem with this is it should say somewhere clearly - the reward is only avaliable if you book directly through the property's own web site or via the phone - I am not having people booking through lat e rooms .com where i pay 15% commission 20% vat on commission and then a gift on top

It was a pleasure to place a name with a voice. You have a wonderful property!

Good one. I resented someone using a 3rd party booking engine who specifically requested a higher priced room in the notes from the booking company. She was trying to give herself a discount because only standard rooms are listed online but she went thru my whole website first and picked the room she wanted.

Agree totally! Of course I don't know how they could ask for a discount on any of those booking sites but if there is a way, people will find it!!!

Agree BD, and in fact I want it to be ENTER THIS CODE online when you make this reservation. In fact, I want this to be an ONLINE SPECIAL GIFT ONLY.

Hi! We actually did discuss the "online only" idea, but so many B&Bs/Inns still only take reservations via phone calls and that would cut them all entirely out. Hopefully what we posted a minute ago will be a good compromise... : )
We can bold the text regarding entering the code, too! We'll try it :)

Interesting, if they are on this website, seems they are online...but I hear ya! The more the merrier. Please don't hold back the technology for a few, when the bulk overwhelmingly prefers something else.
And remember everyone, you can change up the reward in season, so busy season do something less than the off season when you really want to bait that hook (esp to increase the number of nights they stay!)

Was thinking on this, if a property wants ot limit the reward to those who book online, it could be added to the reward statement on the site - Right? I am already forgetting, is there a character limit on that part? I remember there is a 255 limit on the inn description area.

there is always a comments section or special requests section they put it in there - we had a huge problem with this when we advertised with an National Health Service thing - they gave us a sticker to display in the window ie said something like we accept NHS discount my idea was to attract NHS people back to harrogate if they saw us on the way to the conference - all that happened was all the people staying who had booked through a third party site then wanted the 10% off!
Went mad with my mother as while we were out one day she gave 2 nhs people this discount -
ie 15% to 3rd party then 20% of that commission again as tax then 10% discount on top and they wern't paying high money to start with and then we have to pay 10% of turnover as VAT - + chambermaid, sheets, utilities, breakfast and sundries - exactly what was left?

Bob, love the new big white text on the home page photos!.
Me too except it doesn't show up in the iphone. Not responsive
sad_smile.gif

.
This is something we will have to work on.
.
1. try having only 3 featured inns. No need for five.
2. make the header image text a bit smaller and text should reflect the photo..some do not.
3. on the innkeeper page put in some photos to " cheer up" the page and break up some of the text.

1) I tried to see what it would look like with 3 and it did not look good. Plus we want to be able to give as much exposure to Inns as we can!
2) The text I will look at. Much smaller and its hard to read. We will rotate pics and wording through out the year.
3) I agree :)

Just got a "Google Alert" e-mail -- Google has indexed our listing on InnRewards....
(For those who don't know about Google Alerts, you can sign up to have Google send you an e-mail whenever their bots come across a new page on the web meeting the search criteria you supplied.)

Happy Easter everyone!
I have really enjoyed helping all of you who have signed up. Its been fun to get to know you a little more. We have had many properties register, but never listed their property. Let me know if you need help with adding your listing. I have really enjoyed looking at all the different properties and the rewards they are giving away. Hope you all have a great weekend!
