August is always really silly season around here. But this one beat them all...
Phone rings, I answer and guy on the other end says, 'We can't get in.' OK, but the doorbell didn't ring so I'm not exactly sure where he is. I walk into the office and see him standing outside with 5 other people. Hmmmm. I keep walking figuring this is going to be easier in person than on the phone.
I get to the door and there is a 20-something on a phone, but not the person who is talking to me. She is just standing directly outside the door. I open the door and ask if she is with the other people? She looks up from the phone and says, 'Yeah.' I say, 'Let's go find out where you need to be.' 'Yeah.'
In the meantime, I am still talking to the guy on the phone. I wave at them and an older woman points at me and yells, 'She opened the door, go ask her!'
I go over to the group and ask what they are looking for because they are not booked in here. They are trying to get into the restaurant. Again I ask, 'What restaurant?' They don't know but they are SURE it is somewhere in my house!
Next thing I know I am handed another phone and am talking to the person who made the reservation at the restaurant (which is still not here, oh BTW). Finally, the person on the phone, after giving me all kinds of reasons why it was so hard to give directions to the restaurant ('The internet is so confusing.') I get out of her where the want to be. About 50 feet from where they are all standing arguing with me and each other.
I point at the building they want and tell them to just get back in the car, exit my driveway and pull into the NEXT driveway. They want to stay parked here. I tell them, 'No, you need to park over there, they have lots of parking.' The guy keeps saying to me, 'We passed that place already.' And I keep telling him, 'Yes, you did, but that's where you have to go.'
I come back in the house and see them leave and then proceed to forget them. Then, Gomez says, 'What where they looking for?' I tell him and he says when I came back in the house the older woman started shaking her fist and yelling at the guy who called me. Then, even tho I told them where they wanted to be, pointed directly at the driveway, they went to McD's. I didn't know McD's took reservations...
So glad they are not staying here, it was like herding cats.
