We've had a rough adjustment to our "in" season this month, and I personally am not sad to see it go. Some very odd ducks here who've made life more challenging than it needs to be.
Here's wishing everyone a very happy and productive May!

April has been a good month, revenue-wise, but it has brought some challenges from guests. Shoulder season always seems to be like that for us - during the summer and the fall, we get a lot of regulars and repeats. Spring seems to bring out the 'amateur' B&Bers.

I agree on both counts. Lots of special needs too, especially breakfast stuff...and I really try to talk with them before they get here and get something that will suit, they always end up not eating the "special" items. That's just frustrating.

We get the opposite...Spring and Late Fall/Early Winter are our repeats, Summer is tourist-only and that's when we get the amateur hour. This April was better than last, that's for sure!

HIP HIP HURRAY! Bring on May (Except that means graduations and guests who have never been to a B&B!) Bring it on anyway!

I feel your pain! We have a college here as well and those folks are NOT here for our Inn, that is for sure! Every year graduation and parent's weekend are a nightmare. Had a great surprise this year though, while we were on vacation in January a previous guest who is a dear booked the entire inn except one room for graduation weekend...and they are NOT here for the college but for the history. So we will have only ONE out of NINE rooms filled with PITA parents!

Most years the graduation parents are long-time (5 year) repeats. They stayed here on the initial college survey trip and have come back every year. This year not so. But, we do have some repeats in that weekend as well as some folks here for a geneological 'expedition'.

April was dead, dead, dead. Bring on May!!! Graduation, seminars, and rosy hopes for June and July!
=)
Kk.

April showered us with guests! It was fabulous. May not so good yet

Our last arrival for April was a walk-in. Worried about traveling back home via airplane and being stuck in the plane for 10 hours with who knows what germs.

There have been germs in airplanes forever as well as everywhere else we exist. All we can do is hope for the best and keep washing our hands and keep them away from our faces
