Hi there,
We create a useful tool for locating your B&B. You can find your latitude and longtitude coordinates on google maps. Just move the red pin to find your coordinates. For using this tool please visit:
http://www.justbedandbreakfast,,,,,net/map-tool.html
[swirt: I broke this link not because the post is spam, I broke it because this page was actually stolen from www.PillowsandPancakes.com (see PaulAvery's post below) and I don't like to reward bad behavior.]

"We create a useful tool for locating your B&B."
Is this a continuous process? Shouldn't it have been "We have created..."
And...did you lose your Bed and Breakfast? I know where my B&B is. I'm sitting in it right now.

They should have said, "We have created a tool to help others find your B&B"
My guess this that English is not their first language. You'd think that someone wanting to market a product outside of their own country would learn the language.
There was an advertisement posted the other day in this forum for a new reservation system. About two thirds of the page was not written in English. What up with these folk?

Actually received SPAM from them today. With the following prices:
 • One Year Listing is 14.99 US Dollars
 • Two Years Listing is 24.99 US Dollars
 • One Year Hot Listing (Featured) 34.99 US Dollars
 • Life Time Listing 129.99 US Dollars ( Lifetime discount is 30%, Coupon Code: LIFETM )

Anyone actually doing this, or just another spammer who has no real traffic who posted this original subject just for the spammy link?

Why would anyone use them? We all know where our B &B is?? And if we don't we should be on Google Places for FREE! Welll DUH.. they are using Google Maps. Maybe SWIRT should just remove this thread as it is SPAM!

Spam, spam, spam,spam....come on sing along!

It is spam, but if I remove it, then people like GBManor and others would not have found it here and backed up their suspicion that it may be a dubious place to spend their money. :)

Actually, I found it in reverse. After I received his spam, I checked his domain on Alexa (as I always do. Magically this one has inflated his Alexa, somehow. In any case, I looked at the clickstream and thought that it was odd that he was getting traffic from here. So I came to look at the topic.
It's 100% spam. Couldn't you leave the topic but somehow remove the live URL, so you weren't feeding the spammer?

First clue is look at the SUBJECT it is under on the forum.
Best thing to do (imo) is to move this whole thread to the SPAM section of the forum, if Swirt wouldn't mind doing that.

This vendor has complied with the terms of use of this site, so the link will stay. If only for the benefit of members to actually click through and see what awaits at the other end. I do not believe that all of the traffic from here is going there is going with a positive outcome in mind.
User contributed links on any forum carry very little, if any search engine link love. This is especially true of "drive by links" where a member spends no time and contributes little to the community. (read that as Google can and does distinguish between links left by a one time link dropper and links contributed by Alibi Ike or others that have been contributing here for a while.)

Hey Guys/Gals,
I was just going through my Google Analytics and saw this file named map-tool.html
I did not recognize the file, nor could I see it on my server. I was getting very confused. So I did a search in google for
http://www.pillowsandpancakes.com/map-tool.html
and found this thread.
And of course saw the link at the top of the thread. I then looked at it and thought, um, that looks kind of familiar (as in I think I created that). So I checked the source and look for the analytics ID and it is 71766-10. Which is mine!!!! To me it appears these guys ripped one of my pages (this one http://www.pillowsandpancakes.com/map.php) and did not bother to remove my analytics ID. Ha ha! How lazy can one be?
Sharing this for two reasons:
a) if you are ever looking at your stats and you see something you just cannot figure out, like a page that show traffic, but you don't know the page, consider your analytics ID could be on another site
b) to make justbb blush a little. Blush for liftng my stuff. Blush for not removing my analytics ID.
Keep in mind, there are two sides to every story. So maybe these folks did not lift my stuff.

WOW! Thanks Paul. I just broke their link in the original post with an explanation of why, and put in another link to your site.
I always say that actions say alot more about character than words ;)

Now I have an explanation of why my gut feeling has been to hit the delete key when these people e-mail me.

The irony to this, there is plenty of guides out there where people show you how to do exactly what I did. They could have got the code directly from Google... point being, for maybe 30 mins more work and a little more thinking they could have built this on their own and not risk their reputation.
Inlcuding from Google itself. http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/webservices/
