I have a new innkeeping glossary term. "The Joy Killers" defined as a person or person who walk into the dining room to a full table and because of the sour look on their face, the aggravation or said misery it kills all joy in the room. The table beforehand was full of laughter, story-telling and has become sullen and dismayed, With a full table it now becomes the job of the host who is also cooking food for the entire table to entertain and make light statements in an attempt to remove the kill-joys effect from the room.
And what a shock they ate and took off, within 4 minutes of the main course. Bye time to clear. And btw misery does NOT love company.
