Posted a screen shot of 160,000 visitors screen dimensions to our blog

Whew...none of this means anything to me and I don't even know what the width of mine is. Ignorance is bliss....for amateurs like me it's easier to just add pages....

You can always crop height to get your point across. Big images do give the oooh ahh effect.
When i look at reports from cape charles house, these are the resolution useage %'s
1. 1024x768 20.23%
2. 1280x800 19.74%
3. 1280x1024 10.77%
4. 1680x1050 10.77%
5. 1440x900 9.14%
6. 1920x1080 4.08%
7. 1366x768 3.43%
8. 1152x864 1.96%
9. 1920x1200 1.79%
10. 1280x960 1.63%.

The problem with large images is they also take longer to load. Not everyone has dsl or a cable modem. Part of good web design is optimization for faster page loads. Personally, I like about 800 px, keeping my images within a manageable size.
