Have you ever seen this on your Amex statement? (If you don't take Amex, no need to tell me that.)
I called but the office is closed on the weekend so I can't find out HOW we were non-compliant. It was something about the card being non-compliant. I might be able to figure out which card I ran that fit the bill, but I don't know how that would help me, either.

All the time. Give me a moment to remember what it means...it only means they charge an addtl fee. It has nothing to do with you, or them really. I have to remember...I looked into it.

No one is in on the weekend but the recording said the card did not meet their requirements. I want to know why they are handing out cards that I can't process without an additional fee!
I will have to go thru the whole thing to see WHAT card it was and if I can remember the situation.

Amex sent us a note last year telling us that they were going to charge us a network access fee. We called to cancel... they cancelled the fee. If it's not a significant part of your business, threaten to cancel and see if they still want to charge you the fee.

Maddie do you go through the monthly or quarterly pci compliance deal for your biz?
and then there is this (I see ours is third on the list omni3200) and maybe THIS is why we have to do the PCI Compliance now? Maybe I should stuff that and get a new terminal? They never told me that was the issue, ever!

Interesting! There was an option on the phone about 'the letter you received...' concerning the access fee. I did not get a letter about an access fee! What is the fee? How did you find out about it?

I have never heard that certain terminals are not compliant. My processor knows what terminal I have you would think they would tell me to change it if it needs changing. Oh who am I kidding. They take my money and don't give a care about compliance!
We get the PCI compliance folder once/year.

We got one from Amex about a year and a half ago. Amex is minor in our business, so we just called to cancel.... and they volonteered to cancel the fee instead. They wanted $5 a month from us. But remember we are in two different countries, the unit on your side of the border may function differently. But if they are a very small in your business, then threatening to cancel might get their attention to help you and not lose you.

You guys actually accept AMEX? Their fees are ridiculous. Do you charge extra if someone use an AMEX card? We take MC, Visa, Discover...PERIOD.
We quit taking cash and will not accept a check. We've already been through the reasons on several recent threads.

How can you generate a free airfare on a rewards card without diving into frequent flier miles? One way is to use the American Express Blue Sky charge card. Cash back and a variety of other benefits make Blue Sky more valuable, as some of the rewards could be used to book a flight anytime. Advance bookings and shorter-distance trips give AMEX holders real worth for their dollars. With an personal finance, you can afford to pay for your big trips.
