Man fined $65 for letting pet python crawl around Holiday Inn hallway[/h1]
by Scott Carmichael (RSS feed) on May 26th 2010 at 1:30PM
A 25 year old man from Mason City, IA has been fined $65 for letting his pet snake crawl uncontrolled through the hallways of the local Holiday Inn. The man was a guest at the hotel, and apparently felt that his 5 year old pet python needed some exercise. What convinced him to let the snake loose in the hallway is a mystery, but the hotel manager says the man was apologetic about the incident. Now, I'm not a pet owner myself, but I do understand people who love their pets a lot - but to let a python loose in a hotel hallway just boggles the mind. The Holiday Inn manager did remind guests that the chain is pet friendly, but that their hospitality ends with cats and dogs. So, next time you take a trip, you may want to find a pet-sitter for your python.

Yikes... my husband said he was watching a show on NAT GEO last night about how pythons are almost running wild in parts of Florida. Anyone else heard about this. Showed one eating a big crocodile or alligator not sure which...whichever.......YIKES!!!!

Lord have mercy.
I think no matter how I might have suppressed the urge, I would have shrieked if I'd seen a python in a hallway.

lol! that reminds me of the story about when Alice Cooper (who has pythons as part of his stage show...very spoiled pythons...they live like kings. No rats for them. They get mink.)
Anyway he was in this brand new hotel and put an 10 foot python in the bathtub because they like to swim, closed the door and went to bed.
In the morning, he goes into check on the snake, and its gone! Too big to go under the door, no way to go over the door....where could it be?
Being a new hotel, it was so new that they hadn't installed the seat covers on the toilets and the snake made his exit down the toilet and into the plumbing of the hotel!
For a month they tore that hotel apart looking for the snake which they never did find.
About 6 weeks later, the headline reads:
"Enormous python comes out of toilet in room of singer Charley Pride". It didn't say if he was on the toilet at the time or shaving and just happened to look over...anyway . . . Charley Pride sings Gospel now.
btw...this is a true story.
