All,
Word is that Google considers websites with privacy policies more trustworthy both for quality score within Adwords and search engine ranking in general. In continuous kowtow to Google... our bed-and-breakfast-privacy-policy.

Joey,
With regard to adwords.... from Brad Geddes "Advanced Google Adwords" p. 187 in a "Transparency" section: "If you collect personal information, such as email addresses...then adding a privacy policy can increase your landing page quality....". Privacy policy and SERP ranking is too hard to search for so I'm not going to be able to show you what I saw. It makes sense though ... Google cares about trustworthiness and adding legally binding documents adds that.

Thanks for the info! Makes sense - I'm going to add one to mine.

Riki.
I'd suggest waiting to see what SWIRT has to say on this topic. I don't know who the fellow is who he refers to...so I would take it with a grain of salt at this point:)
