I saw some small triangle shaped pans for scones. I forgot where I saw them. Has anyone eles seen them. I think they would be a nice change of pace. I like the shape and that they are small.

The much better half just takes the scone dough, forms it into a circle maybe 1 1/2" thick, cuts it into triangular wedges and places them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

DW just shapes her dough into a circle and then cuts it into wedges before placing it in the oven. Her scones are the best!
Scones and clotted cream.......mmmmmmm!

We are frequently amazed at how much guests love scones and think they are some really tough thing to bake.
I think they are one of the easiest things to produce.

I have not seen anyone use a pan, you just cut them into triangles and place on a baking sheet.

Nothing bold about it. Just stating fact.

Of course, I'm biased because I think she is the best.

Wouldn't it be a kick to ship some stuff to each other to try?
So, does she do the more crumbly, drier eggless type or the puffy, bigger type with eggs?

Hi All!
An innkeeper friend of mine pointed me to this forum, very informative read so far!
Wanted to chime in to say that I have some great scone pans that are cast iron from Harry & David. 16 mini scones per pan. They are awesome. With 10 rooms we can serve up to 25 for breakfast so these are perfect for making sure all the scones are the same size. They definitely look more polished than the handcut scones and guests absolutely exclaim over them. Personally I think they are the easiest thing I bake, so it's minimal work for the nice WOW factor.

Ummm...... maybe sticking to the baked goods would be best.
We used to get "baked" in our youth, but are usually too tired these days to put out the effort.

I just scoop out the scone dough by the tablespoon and plop it on a parchment lined sheet and bake it. It is kind of round and bumpy

Yup, here she uses an ice cream scoop.
We change our menu everyday and for guests like we have right now who are staying six nights, they love all her cooking, so she tries to at least make the scones look different by the time they come around in the menu.
So, their first morning they got the scooped, round shaped with whatever flavor or fruit she chose. By the end of the stay they might get the triangle shaped with her lemon/poppyseed flavoring.

Especially since I have a Cuisenart food processor. I mix the flour sugar and butter the night before. Store it in the frig, add the wet ingrediants and fruit in the morning, pat it into a circle, cut into wedges and bake on cookie sheet.

Are you able to share some of your scone recipes? That would be great.

I make mine exactly like Jeanne.
Mix them up, pat into a circle about 3/4 inch thick, cut into wedges and bake.
