Canada got "street viewed" a little while ago. We had built a while back a mashup between Google Maps and Street view and Aerial maps.
Here is an example of a Canadian one.

In case it crashes your browser, this is what it is suppose to look like.
Thought it might be of inteset to a few.

Wow, cool.
Google "street viewed" our town last year... it made the local paper. Of course, they only ran into town down main street, went back on second street and were done... so no street view for us!
=)

i hated the street view of my old place ... worst possible angle of the end of the dirt driveway. was always hoping folks wouldn't check out my street view!
which makes me wonder if it will be possible to replace a 'prettyfied view' or would that defeat the concept of the 'real thing'?
(but i like p&p's mashup concept)

Seashanty, AFAIK, I don't think you can replace the street view pics with your own.
Microsoft did a cool thing at Obama inuguration, they stiched ANYONEs pics together. Not seemless, but pretty cool.

Maybe one day Google will implant cams into our heads so they can keep street view up to date. ;)

I have added pictures in Google Maps, that will pop up when you get to a specific area as User Photos. You have to have it picked up by Google Maps through Panoramio.

Bob, do you have credit or subtitle or anything linking back to your B&B from Panoramio? Just wondering how that works. I would like to attempt to do it as well. Thanks.

The B&B is too far off the path to be picked up in Street View. I have been posting the area with pics that have tags with McKinnon's Lakeside Bed & Breakfast, as well as the Lake Erie Country Club area. It is a relatively new upload. I do not know how many hits I am getting from it. No link back available, that I know of.

So far my 5 p.m. showed up at 10 a.m. and my 2:30 p.m. showed up at 6 (after I'd taken my first bite of dinner, of course!). Two more to go... one apologetic b/c she can't pin down what time she's coming, one at 8:30.
Oh well, full house in April is a GOOD thing!
=)
