I am on the phone, for the 3rd time with someone who is not able to find their way to my place. She is exactly 2.2 miles north of me. We are on a major scenic road. No one misses this place. I can't wait to see what comes out of the car, should they ever get here. Duh. My patience are wearing thin today

Hey, I had to flag someone in last night. Actually watched them from the window as they drove by while on the phone with me.

I have been on the phone with them and say I can see your headlights as they drive right on past our sign. Sure the sign is small but if you are going the speed limit - 20mph and you know you are close, you should not miss it.

I have had to go to the corner (main drag is 1 block away) to flag someone in. That is why I escort the horse people from the Interstate - they would NEVER find the stable.

And the classic ' my GPS couldn't find your place.' That's why I have explicit directions on my website and include a link to Google on my confirmation email so you can insert your starting point for a step by step route.
People still turn back around because they think they've gone too far even when I tell them --5 minutes! Drive 5 minutes from the stop light!

Yes, I have had to stand outside and wave a number of times myself.
We have a big, colorful sign in front of our big house. I even told that woman how many miles she is away from us. She drives in the opposite direction.
I have a lengthy description on how to get here from all 3 directions on my website as well. 3 directions, because I don't think they're driving across Lake Michigan, heheh
Glad I am not the only one with, with, with...shtoopid guests. How do they get around in their daily lives?

ive done that more than once!
Last night was a prize winner - usually I shut down all rooms for that night as we go to bed - didn't last night but they are supposed to turn off as they reach last check out time - but they didn't
Phone call 11.30 - ive missed the last train so ive booked with you and im stood outside - im fast asleep and in PJ's
So had to get up and check him in - could have told him to go away but town is really busy and it was late at night and he seemed a nice man who was already stranded once.
Then this morning have 2 guest rooms who are in for 2 weeks but we couldn't do this Friday and sat so they are going somewhere else then coming back - discovered guest in room 3 had booked the wrong dates and had booked out for sat/sun and not Friday/sat - so then there was sorting that - all in the middle of breakfast and the phone never stopped ringing!

Mine are dead air and robo calls. Then there was the "case was continued and they did not tell me until I called to check something so I have to cancel my 3 night...." At least that one WILL book later - they love us.

August, Sept and Oct are crazy here. I'm already at 60% for August and it's only the first week of the month.
I wouldn't mind a bit if one couple that reserved for this weekend would cancel - even today and I wouldn't even charge them. They fall into the category of the 'completely clueless' guests. After the last two visits, I didn't ever want to have them back. The fist visit they called me 15 times on my cell phone! The 2nd visit was much the same. It was during the 2nd visit that they put Mr. Bubble in the HOT TUB! Egads! I need wine already.

I don't know ... I'd probably make you all crazy as I can easily get lost. I was going round and round in circles following my gps to the Tipsy Butler. I pulled over and called Sarah (RIP) by cell and she came out onto the big hill in front of her place and flagged me down (literally) with a big, bright polka dot flag shouting into her phone, "look up to your left, look up." I think the flag was an apron.

That is a wicked bad intersection there. No wonder you were wandering...lost.

1 was a booking - for 10 weeks working on a hotel renovation ironically that I nearly cried because we couldn't take! - (wouldn't we all) but referred to a friend we could.
1 reservation for sunday which was fine
2 dead air calls
5 from the help phone upstairs for check out (breakfast room is in the basement so ground floor for reception)

Looking for wood to knock on, and only finding my cheap particle board desk, but so far (in my 3rd year) I've never had anybody fail to find my place and succeed with the self-checkin. I can't believe how well things have gone.
But I only accept reservations from people who can make their reservation online through ResKey, so that little hurdle may be screening out the less self-sufficient guests, and that's what I want.

Drive 5 minutes from the stop light! At what speed? lol better for me if I know miles.

You're so cheeky! I should have added, ' Drive five minutes, four km from the stoplight'
Dont ask me to convert to miles !
