Why do they always eat the garnish first?

Unscientific study tells me that when you cut a piece of fruit to decorate the fruit offerings on the buffet, that meticulously cut garnish will be the first piece eaten.

Another unscientific study says if you put the garnish on the plate you throw it out an hour later. Hardly anyone ever ate the garnish no matter what it was.

In your case it’s probably because it just looks yummy!
