They email you to tell you they found something unmentionable in their room when they checked in rather than blasting it all over on review sites. I am mortified but will now review our cleaning procedures to be sure nothing like that is found by a guest ever again.

Can we play guess the unmentionable?
We once found some porno mags hidden under a phone book at a hotel in California.
How about a guest who left their personal toy on the floor next to the bed?

Don't even get me started about "unmentionables"! We're a magnet for them here! Eric, were you on the forum when the stripper pole appeared in one of my rooms? LOL

I think everyone can use their own imaginations to come up with something they would be mortified to have the next guest find in the room.

Gotta love the repeats! I always relax when the repeats are here. You know they "get" you. I just had repeats leave today who have been coming for years. I made them a little goody gift with mug, cookbook, chocolate covered fortune cookies and a few small items with our logo. It was just a little thank you for being such loyal guests.
I realized this morning that I should be doing more little thoughtful things for repeats. I used to do it much more often, but as easy to do, I started taking them for granted.

Diva - what a great idea about giving them a goody bag - we get a lot of repeats and we are happy to see them return

Nope. Stripper pole? Could that be a feature that brings in extra $?

I know a lot of places give a % discount for return guests, but I'd much rather give them something as a gesture instead of miss out on all that $$.
gotta show 'em the love somehow!

I once went into our cottage to do a 'fluff' and found a rather interesting, uhm... apparatus (? - for lack of a better term). Had to face them at breakfast the next morning. They were obviously not too concerned about it. After they left, I found Polariod instant camera film boxes - they didn't exactly look like the 'digital camera' types.

Fortunately they did not leave any other evidence behind.
